When your monthly bill is due, choose the payment option that’s right for you

EnerStar Electric Cooperative makes it easy for members to choose one of many payment options that is most convenient for them. With seven different payment choices, members can set payments to be made automatically, pay online, visit our local office or pay by phone from the comfort of home.

“We encourage our members to review these payment choices then contact the office if they have questions,” said Susan Watson, EnerStar’s Lead Member Services Representative. “We offer a variety of possibilities because we know that all of our members are different, and we want to find one that best meets their needs and lifestyle.”

Watson added that the cooperative is now offering Discover Card in addition to Visa and MasterCard. “We often have members ask about the Discover card so we added it once it became feasible. It’s just one more way to better serve our member-owners,” Watson added.

Your payment choices

Autopay

This payment plan offers both convenience and savings. Sign up for Autopay online, in person, or with our free, secure online and mobile app SmartHub. You can choose whether the payment is deducted from your checking account or applied to a debit or credit card. Your payment will be automatically deducted on the due date. You will no longer need to remember to make a payment, saving you time and postage. Go paperless and get a one time $5 bill credit.

PrePaid Electric

With Prepaid Electric, you have the freedom to “pay as you go.” Starting the service requires a $25 deposit and a payment of $75 to your prepay account. As you use electricity, the account balance decreases accordingly. You decide how often you want to pay and the amount. Prepaying helps consumers as they are more aware of their consumption and smaller, incremental payments are possible. You choose notifications such as an email or text message alerting you when the balance gets below a certain threshold that you have chosen. Payments are accepted online, in person during regular business hours, over the phone or by mail.

SmartHub

If you prefer to use the internet or your mobile device to receive, view and pay your electric bill online, you can do so by signing up for SmartHub. This free service makes it easy for you to pay your bill whenever and wherever you are. You can review usage data, sign up for co-op notifications, and much more, including reporting a power outage at the click of a button. This free, secure service can be found online at www.enerstar.com under “Manage My Account” or downloaded from your mobile devices’ app store.

Pay by Phone

To make a payment by phone either from your checking account or a debit/credit card, you can call directly to 1-888-999-4201. This option is also a menu option when calling our office at 1-800-635-4145. This service allows you to store your banking information for easy use the next time.

MoneyGram

To find a MoneyGram location to make a near-instant cash payment, visit www.moneygram.com. The service provider does charge a nominal fee. There are several convenient locations in the EnerStar service territory and in Terre Haute.

Mail Your Payment

Please use the return envelope and payment stub included with your billing statement to send your check or money order payments to us by mail. Please do NOT send cash through the mail.

EnerStar Office – Office and Night Depository Box

Payments may be made at the EnerStar office Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Our office accepts cash, check, money order and debit/credit card payments. For your convenience, you may make after-hours payments using the night deposit box located in the grassy area between our entrance and Blue Heron Road south of the co-op parking lot.
