EnerStar Electric Cooperative believes empowering the next generation as the key to a brighter future. That's why, along with other electric cooperatives across Illinois, we are committed to investing in our youth through scholarships. These scholarships honor our cooperative family's legacy and support tomorrow's leaders' dreams and goals.
Applications are now open for the Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program. This year, the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives will award 17 scholarships, each worth $2,500, to outstanding students from the electric cooperative family.
Here's a brief rundown of the scholarships available:

Ten scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors whose parent(s) are Illinois electric co-op members, giving these students a bright start on their educational journey.

The Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship is reserved for a student whose parent is an Illinois electric cooperative employee or director, honoring the legacy of service within our cooperative family.
- Five scholarships are available for full-time students enrolling at a two-year Illinois community college. Eligible candidates must be children of an electric cooperative member in Illinois.
Also available is the LaVern and Nola McEntire Memorial Lineworker's Scholarship, designed for those ready to pursue a career in linework. The scholarship is open to students planning to enroll or enrolled at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois.
The application deadline for the 2025 IEC Memorial Scholarships is December 31, 2024.
The application deadline for the 2025 Lineworker Scholarship is April 30, 2025.
