EnerStar Electric Cooperative believes empowering the next generation is the key to a brighter future. That's why, along with other electric cooperatives across Illinois, we are committed to investing in our youth through scholarships. These scholarships honor our cooperative family's legacy and support the dreams and goals of tomorrow's leaders.

Applications are now open for the Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program. This year, the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives will award 17 scholarships, each worth $3,000, to outstanding students from the electric cooperative family.

Here's a brief rundown of the scholarships available:

  • Ten scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors whose parent(s) are members of an Illinois electric co-op.

  • The Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship is reserved for a student whose parent is an Illinois electric cooperative employee or director, honoring the legacy of service within our cooperative family.

  • Five scholarships are available for full-time students enrolling at an Illinois community college whose parent(s) are electric co-op members.

Also available is the LaVern and Nola McEntire Memorial Lineworker's Scholarship, which supports students pursuing a career in linework through enrollment in the lineworker program at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois.
