Who We Are
EnerStar is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Paris, Illinois. We proudly serve the mostly rural areas in the Illinois counties of Clark, Coles, Douglas, Edgar, and Vermilion.

How We Operate and Are Governed
EnerStar supplies electric power to its members, but it is the membership that powers the cooperative. The co-op membership elects nine co-op members to serve on the board of directors. The board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the electric cooperative and overseeing its assets and resources, ensuring that the cooperative operates in the best interest of its members. The cooperative membership also approves the cooperative's bylaws, which guide the board in their decisions. The bylaws are amended when necessary at the Annual Meeting of Members, usually in June of each year.
