A great place to promote electrical safety is by educating our community's youth. Children will carry these important concepts into adulthood by teaching electrical safety at a young age. 

4th Grade Safety Day
During this event, students attend an innovative demonstration by Live Line Demo. This exciting show teaches children how electricity travels through wires and what happens when a kite hits a power line or a truck backs into a utility pole. The Live Line display contains 7,200 volts of electricity and features the same poles, transformers, and line hardware used by EnerStar. This presentation is fun and educational, with props such as a fake squirrel, a hot dog, and a fiery balloon. 

Safety Literature
In addition, EnerStar provides safety literature that includes activity booklets and coloring books related to electricity. These materials are suitable for preschool to high school students. Contact EnerStar to check on their availability. Giving three weeks' notice is recommended because some materials may need to be ordered.
